Race to Wrigley 5K, 20:11

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

At least according to my Ipod. It also thought I only ran 4K. I guess I should have calibrated it at my race pace. The race wasn’t chip timed, so we’ll see what my official time is in a couple of days.

In any case, the run went well. The temperature was good for running and the rain held off until I finished and even then it only sprinkled a bit. The course was much better this year than it was last year. I was disappointed that the race T-shirts weren’t technical shirts this year.

Up tomorrow: 10 miles. I feel pretty good now, so hopefully there won’t be any ill effects by tomorrow.

I ran to and from the race, so thats’ at least an extra 1.5 miles. My new shoes now have 14.5 miles on them.

10K, 50:54, 8:11 min/mi

My fastest 10K this year. Not sure that’s a good thing, but I felt good for the whole run. So far, I’ve been just running and seeing how I feel. I need to start getting my mileage ramped up and also start cross training.

I wore my newer pair of shoes (3/07) for this run and had no problems with them. I ran the first 6K by myself and then stopped home and grabbed Fritz for the last 4K. He wanted to sprint and pull for the first 2K of the run, but then he settled in and trotted along beside me. He was pretty passed out after the run and he’s sleeping again now. Run was at 5:45pm last night. 11 miles on my 3/07 pair of shoes. 11 miles for the week so far.
